The name Anderlecht is a reference to the name of the city of Anderlecht, in the Brussels Capital Region.
Anderlecht has a huge trophy cabinet. The large number of supporters all over the country is partly due to this impressive list of trophies.
Here comes the list for Belgium. 34 times national champion, 9 times the Cup of Belgium, 13 times the Super Cup, 3 times the League Cup (no longer exists), they became sports team of the year once, 6 times the trophy Jules Pappaert (this is a prize for the team with the longest unbeaten run in 1A) and once "The national trophy for sports merit".
Anderlecht was also able to play football in the European picture. They participated in the Champions League (18 times), European Cup I, European Cup II, Europa League, among others, UEFA Super Cup (2 times), UEFA Cup, Jaarbeursstedenbeker and the Conference League. RSCA was able to win European Cup 2 twice and then also the Super Cup (in 1976 and 1978). The UEFA Cup was also won once, in the 1982/83 season.
Anderlecht plays in the Lotto Park, a stadium that can accommodate 21500 supporters. The Lotto Park is located at the Astridpark. Until July 2019, the stadium was known as the Constant Vanden Stockstadion.
In Neerpede, about 2 kilometres from the Lotto Park are the training grounds and youth training of RSC Anderlecht. One of the most famous results from the youth training is Romelu Lukaku, who was allowed to play with Anderlecht's first team at the age of 16.
Anderlecht's club and supporters are known by several names. The best-known nicknames in Flanders are of course Purple White and Sporting. But because of the bilingualism due to the club's location, they are also known as Mauve et Blanc and Les Mauves.
The hard core of supporters used to be known as the O-side, named after the section in the stadium. Nowadays, the hard core gathers under the name BCS, Brussels Casual Service.
There is also the supporter group Mauve Army. As an Anderlecht fan, you can keep up to date with their actions via Mauves Army's Facebook page.
